The Shopping Spree

Today I went on a Major shoping Spree with the UEC I had saved over time. And I actually got some more from SubDiamond, because he wanted me to buy and try out the Anvil Asgard.

I had a fair bit of UEC and decided to try the other large transport beside the Drake Caterpillar, the Crusader C2 Hercules. And it seems easier to load, although I had first some problems with the landing gear, that wouldn’t retract and then with the cargo elevators of the hangar that would not deliver the Cargo.

The Crusader Industries C2 Hercules Starlifter is a heavy freighter with both a large front and large rear door and a enormous space inbetween, so that you can fly or drive through! Even a Tank is far from a tight fit!

Seeing these problems persist, I decided to wait for them to be repaired and instead had a look at the Kruger L-21 Wolf, a small and nimble one person fighter, that has retractable guns and 8 small rockets and even offers some stowage for equipment. This will probably become my new, one-person jet-around ship. Though people also recommended me the

With the L-21 Wolf I then from Area18 to Lorville, where I intendet to buy even more ships – I would build a great palette of different ships for different purposes.

I then set my sights on the Drake Corsair, which is shortly before receiving an upgrade from the manufacturer to include the promised workbench. I noticed that it is a great ship, when you don’t know what’s coming at you and how many crew you’ll be working with.

The Drake Interplanetary Corsair is a great ship, if you have no Idea what will come at you, or what you’ll do today. Fighting, exploring or hauling, alone or with 4 people, the corsair does it all!

In that same sense, if you already know that you’ll be working with multiple people, but still don’t know what you’ll be doing, then the RSI Constellation Andromeda, seems to be a perfect fit.

The Robert Space Industries Constellation Andromeda is a great all rounder for three or four people, to be ready for anything. Though alone and even with two it is a bit lacking in certain areas, especially while fighting.

It has a decent cargo capacity, two manned turrets and even a fighter, which makes it perfect for dangerous cargo missions or simply fighting.

From there I met up with SubDiamond again and had a look at his Aegis Hammerhead, which really needs a large crew, maybe even the largest, aside from Capital ships like the RSI Polaris or the Aegis Idris, though for the Hammerhead to operate optimally, it really needs the minimum Compliment of the Idris. This means that while it packs quite a punch for its size, many Citizens opt for the Capital ships, once they would have the crew for a Hammerhead.

While the Aegis Dynamics Hammerhead packs quite a punch for its size as a Heavy Gunship, it requires a crew that equals or even exceeds the minimum of many capital ships, thus being often ignored in favor of these.
And yes, the front of the ship points right in the image.

SubDiamond and I flew with the Hammerhead back to Area18, to get myself an Anvil Asgard.

He recommended me the Asgard instead of the Drake Cutlass Black, because it hast equal firing arcs, is just as good for a two man crew and brings a larger cargo hold for vehicles or cargo. The Asgard also has missiles.

The Anvil Aerospace Asgard is a drop ship with a very decent cargo space for people, vehicles or cargo, and should be flown by two people, and maybe two door gunners. Though it can be flown by one Citizen too, if required. It’s biggest weakness is it’s unprotected rear, though it is still quite nimble in a pinch.

SubDiamond then did a bounty hunt with me to try out the Asgard, and it held its own quite good. We even managed to loot two missiles and a gun.

Before getting to buy the Anvil Asgard we decided to grab a bite to eat. We found a food stall offering fresh tortoise-meat in their noodles.

Tortoise meat in the noodles, something new every day.

Conclusion

I now have a lot of ships, now I just need other citizen to play and crew them with or fly alongside of. I hope I can even introduce some new ones.

I also think that joining the Crimson Armada was the right call.
